Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you have to believe in homeopathy for it to work?

No.

I have often heard people say or at least suggest the idea, that you need to believe in homeopathy for it to work. I have always strongly opposed this idea. When I first approached homeopathy twenty-five years ago, I was very sceptical. I had a strong scientific background and homeopathy made no scientific sense to me at the time. When I saw excellent results over and again, I realised that homeopathy works well if it is practised well. Homeopathy is a system of medicine. If the homeopathic prescription is accurate, symptoms improve. Simple as that.

An excellent response to this myth about having to believe in homeopathy is provided by the homeopathic treatment of animals. There are qualified vets who have also trained in homeopathy who report excellent results in the homeopathic treatment of pets and farm animals. This completely debunks the idea of placebo and having to believe in it for it to work. See the British Association of Homeopathic Veterinary Surgeons: www.bahvs.com.

I encourage people to question and be open-minded. So if you have any questions or matters you would like to discuss regarding homeopathy, feel free to give me a call.

Can I take pharmaceutical drugs at the same time as Homeopathic treatment?

Yes.

Many patients are taking pharmaceutical medication when they first arrive for homeopathic treatment. In some cases, this medication is strong, such as high doses of steroids or antidepressants. If the homeopathic prescriptions are accurate, homeopathic medicines work effectively in the presence of pharmaceutical drugs.

Am I expected to make changes in lifestyle and diet?

Generally No.

My philosophy is to encourage people to enjoy a fulfilling and healthy life and I see this as a consequence of successful homeopathic treatment. And so placing restrictions on patients is incompatible with this philosophy.

There are however certain medical conditions, which do necessitate for instance, a particular diet.

My initial approach almost always is to wait to see how the individual responds to Homeopathic treatment before suggesting any changes.
